CHOSEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah! I've received word that my artwork was chosen again this year for the Capitola Begonia Festival Poster. I had such a wonderful time working with everyone last year and decided to give it another try. What a fantastic surprise to find out they chose my piece again for this year's theme. Want to see what it is? Stay tuned......

8x10" OIL on Canvas, Just for fun.....

WHATEVER

Yep, it's our dog Cooper again. Something about that face, and all his hair that keeps me painting him. Plus the fact that he's just a great dog!

Merci Mattise

Recently I was teaching some of my students about Henri Matisse, one of the most influential french artists of the 1900's. He loved pattern, color and design and believed that a painting was more important as an object of art than as a representation of reality. I wanted to try his style. This painting is partly copy and partly my own. Merci Monsieur Mattise!

Vintage Santa Cruz II, The Pelican

In the tradition of the old travel poster, here is another common sight in Santa Cruz (scroll down to see Vintage I, The Harbor). Pictured from the wharf, this acrylic (22"x 28")honors our friend the pelican.

OK, I have to admit. We have the most handsome little Grandsons in the whole world and so I am at a distinct advantage in subject matter. Here is our precious little grandson number three. This oil on canvas, measures 8 x 10" and was given as a Christmas gift to our son-in-law.
